What began as a nature-led, high-end travel specialist has evolved into a curator of immersive, tailor-made journeys across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. Backed by decades of on-the-ground relationships and insider knowledge, we design trips that go beyond the obvious – because to us, real luxury isn’t just about where you stay, it's how deeply you connect.

  • WHY SHOULD I BOOK WITH ALQUEMIE?
    Because we are the South Pacific’s experts in crafting extraordinary, luxury journeys. Our team lives and breathes this region and has built unparalleled relationships with the very best properties, guides, and partners. We unlock experiences you would never find online, and combine them into seamless itineraries with meticulous attention to detail. More than just travel planners, our Alchemists are storytellers, creators, and guardians of your time — ensuring every moment of your trip is exceptional.
  • ARE THE TRIPS ON YOUR WEBSITE FIXED?
    No. The journeys featured online are designed purely for inspiration. Every Alquemie trip is crafted from scratch, based on your preferences, style of travel, and interests. The best way to begin is by completing our enquiry form with as much detail as possible. From there, one of our Alchemists will shape a journey that is entirely your own.
  • WILL I BE TRAVELLING AS A GROUP?
    All of our trips are designed exclusively for you. We don’t currently offer group departures, as that would compromise the tailored nature of what we do. The itineraries on our website are for inspiration only and can be customised or rewritten to match your vision. If you prefer travelling in a group, we recommend signing up to our newsletter — we may be planning some exclusive small-group retreats and adventures in the near future.
  • DO YOU WORK WITH TRAVEL AGENTS?
    Yes. Alquemie was founded within the travel trade, and we continue to work closely with select agents worldwide. Many partner with us to design exceptional journeys for their clients, drawing on our expertise and access. If you’re an agent interested in working with us, please complete the enquiry form or reach out directly at alquemie@alquemie.com.au. If you’re a traveller who prefers to book through your trusted agent, simply ask them to contact us — we’ll work together seamlessly to design your journey.
  • HOW LONG IS AN ALQUEMIE TRIP?
    There’s no set duration. Most of our travellers journey with us for 2–4 weeks — enough time to see the highlights, slow down, and soak up the magic. We can arrange both shorter and longer trips, though we generally recommend a minimum of 5 days to curate something truly special.
  • CAN I BOOK MY OWN ACCOMMODATION?
    To ensure a seamless journey, we normally arrange all accommodation. Over the years, we’ve built strong relationships with lodges and properties across the region, ensuring you receive the best experiences and service. If you’d like to stay with friends or have a specific reason to book part of your stay independently, let us know — we’ll consider it on a case-by-case basis.
  • HOW MUCH DOES AN ALQUEMIE TRIP COST?
    Every journey is unique and crafted from scratch. As a guide, most itineraries begin at around USD $1,000 per person per day (based on two adults sharing), excluding long-haul international flights. This typically includes luxury accommodation, privately guided excursions, regional travel, and comprehensive on-the-ground support. We only work with the best properties, guides, and experiences. Luxury at this calibre comes with a price tag — but it’s also where our expertise lies. We don’t deviate from that standard, as doing so would risk compromising the quality of your journey.
  • DO YOU CHARGE A FEE?
    We don’t usually charge a planning fee. In rare cases — for especially complex or last-minute requests — we may apply a small fee so that we can dedicate our curators’ time fully to your trip. If this applies, we’ll always be transparent before you commit.
  • HOW CAN I PAY?
    We accept payment by bank transfer or credit card in USD, AUD, GBP, EUR, or NZD. Holding bank accounts in each of these currencies allows us to protect you against exchange rate fluctuations. Trips are only confirmed once payment is received. Credit cards incur a 3.5% bank fee, but are typically the fastest option.
  • WILL I GET A PRICE BREAKDOWN?
    Because we negotiate confidential, preferential rates with our partners, we can’t provide a line-by-line breakdown. However, our curators will happily advise on upgrades or cost-saving alternatives to suit your budget. Many of the experiences we offer are exclusive to Alquemie, and every journey is backed by the dedicated support of our expert team. For this reason, the value of an Alquemie itinerary cannot be directly compared with retail prices online or with individual bookings.
  • WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
    You may cancel your holiday at any time, provided it’s confirmed in writing by the person who made the booking. Cancellation takes effect from the date we receive your written communication. Charges are applied as follows: More than 60 days before departure – Deposit forfeit 60–30 days before departure – 50% fee Within 30 days of departure – 100% fee Some components may be subject to different terms, depending on our suppliers. We will always advise you at the time of booking. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance to cover unforeseen cancellations.
  • WHAT HAPPENS IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG ON MY TRIP?
    We meticulously plan every detail so your trip runs smoothly. You’ll receive final documents well before departure, and we ask you to review them carefully to avoid surprises. If the unexpected happens, our team provides emergency support from 06:00–23:00 AEST daily. Your curator is also available for non-urgent queries during business hours.
